Puppy Sales Contract & Health Guarantee

BlueCoat French Bulldogs

The Buyer agrees to provide lifelong commitment, a safe and comfortable environment, prompt medical care, proper grooming, and responsible care for this puppy. This includes keeping the puppy/dog free of internal and external parasites, infection, and injury. Proper nutrition must be provided at regular intervals, with fresh clean water available at all times.

The Buyer promises to maintain a safe environment, never allowing the dog to roam freely without proper fencing or supervision. The puppy must not be left alone for more than eight (8) hours at a time on a regular basis. The living area must remain clean, including bedding that is routinely washed or changed and kept free of bodily waste. The puppy must be kept in a climate-controlled environment with proper ventilation, between 65°F and 80°F at all times.

The Buyer agrees to provide positive reinforcement training and routine preventative care, including but not limited to: annual veterinary examinations, flea/tick/heartworm prevention (as recommended by your veterinarian), deworming, vaccinations, and any additional medical care as needed.

Spay/Neuter & Breeding Agreements

  • Applicable/Non-Applicable: The Buyer agrees to spay/neuter the puppy between 12 and 24 months of age.
  • Applicable/Non-Applicable: If full breeding rights are granted, the Buyer agrees to provide stud service(s) back to the Seller until the agreed pregnancies are completed. One stud service is considered complete once a bitch produces at least three (3) live puppies surviving to 60 days. The Seller will cover all associated stud service costs (transportation, collection, preservation, shipping, etc.). The Buyer agrees to maintain open communication with the Seller regarding breeding readiness and sperm testing.

Registration papers with Full Registration will only be provided to puppies sold with breeding rights. Puppies sold on pet-only contracts (spay/neuter agreements) will not receive AKC registration paperwork. This is to protect the integrity of our breeding program and prevent unauthorized or irresponsible breeding of BlueCoat French Bulldogs’ lineage.

Any puppy or adult sold on a spay/neuter contract that is bred—whether intentionally or accidentally—will incur a $15,000 penalty fee payable to the Seller. Legal action will be taken to enforce this, including recovery of attorney fees.

Buyer Responsibilities

  • Buyer must activate pet health insurance (Trupanion or Nationwide recommended) effective from the puppy’s take-home date.
  • Buyer agrees to continue the Seller’s feeding program for at least three (3) months after pick-up to avoid gastrointestinal distress. Any dietary changes must first be discussed with the Seller.

Health Guarantee

The puppy is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of sale. To validate this guarantee, the Buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of pick-up and provide the results to the Seller within 24 hours of the exam.

The puppy is covered for one (1) year against fatal and life-altering congenital conditions affecting the heart, liver, kidneys, pancreas, or spine. Diagnosis must be confirmed by two (2) independent veterinarians from separate clinics. If confirmed, the Buyer must return the puppy within 10 days, in good condition other than the defect, at the Buyer’s expense. A replacement puppy of equal or lesser value will be provided—no refunds.

The guarantee does not cover:

  • Conditions common in French Bulldogs (e.g., cherry eye, loose hips/knees, stenotic nares, elongated soft palate, allergies, appearance, temperament, skin/ear/eye infections, parasites, coccidiosis, kennel cough, giardia, etc.).
  • Injuries, accidents, neglect, poor diet, anesthesia-related deaths, or behavior/mental health issues.

The puppy is warranted against parvovirus and distemper for 48 hours after pick-up, contingent on ELISA testing by a veterinarian.

Ownership & Care Terms

  • If the Buyer is unable to care for the puppy at any time, the puppy must be returned to the Seller. The Buyer may not sell, rehome, or surrender the dog to a shelter.
  • Cases of abuse, neglect, or unsafe living conditions will result in the Seller reclaiming the puppy. Legal action may be pursued, and the Buyer will be liable for all related costs.
  • The deposit to reserve a puppy is non-refundable. If the Seller determines the Buyer is not a suitable fit, the deposit will be returned. If the Buyer backs out, the deposit is forfeited.

Financial Terms

  • The puppy must be paid in full by seven (7) weeks of age (if using a flight nanny) or at pick-up (if collected in person). BlueCoat French Bulldogs does not offer financing.
  • Late pick-ups beyond 8 weeks will incur boarding fees of $35 per day or $250 per week, up to 4 weeks. After that period, the Buyer forfeits the puppy and all payments.
  • Failure to maintain communication with the Seller for more than 2 weeks will result in forfeiture of deposit and puppy.

Final Agreement

This contract is governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Both parties agree that the terms outlined ensure the well-being of the puppy. By signing, the Buyer acknowledges receipt of this agreement and acceptance of all conditions.
